Your Home is one of the most important assets you own. The most vulnerable state your home can be in is when there are leaks.
There are many options when it comes to roof replacements. We are specialists in all types of residential roof installation including:
Shingles are the most common types of roofing installation. They are durable, affordable and come in a variety of colors. When choosing the type of shingle, there are two main types: Architectural or 3 tab
Architectural shingles are the most durable out of the two. A majority of these shingles have wind resistance rating of at least 110 mph, making them an excellent choice against the elements.
3 Tab shingles were very common back in the day. However, they don't have the best wind rating. A majority of these shingles are rated between 60-80 mph winds, which here in Florida with the many storms we face on average yearly, would not be a great choice.
An excellent choice for flat roofs that have at least a pitch that allows water to run off the roof. This is your typical flat roof that you see on most homes. They are comprised of the same material as shingles, but are more tailored to roofs with less than a 2/12 pitch.
Not all flat roofs are the same. Some flat roofs have very little or no pitch where if installed with only a Modified Bitumen System will actually cause water to pond on the roof. Over time, this lessens the life of the roof and can be a major cause of leaks in those areas. What we install on these types of roofs are ISO boards. These boards add enough pitch to where water will run off the roof. Once a pitch is established we use a modified bitumen system over the ISO boards to ensure that your flat roof lasts as long as possible.
Aesthetically, flat tile roofs look best when installed over new trusses and decking/sheathing or trusses that have been adjusted with abutted 2 x 4's to level the roof decking. This allows for the flat tile edges to line up better, giving you nice straight lines across your roof. This type of tile roof comes with an additional cost as there will need to be additional truss and decking work.
If you're looking to avoid the additional cost associated with leveling your roof trusses and decking, we would recommend barrel tile instead of flat tile. Installing a barrel tile helps hide such dips and offsets caused by the natural settling of your home's trusses and still add a beautiful touch to your roof.
Metal Roofs in general are extremely Durable and Long-lasting. Compared to the more traditional asphalt shingle. metal is far more durable and longer-lasting option for residential roofs. In fact, most homeowners who choose to install a metal roof on their home will never have to think about re-roofing again. We mainly install a standing seam system with hidden fasteners as shown above to ensure that the fasteners don't rust over time, improving the longevity of your roof.
